Miranda founded Rise Above in the wake of an accident that left her with a spinal cord injury, having been inspired by the adaptive community she was introduced to when she competed in her first Paraclimbing World Cup in 2022.

Adam is known by many names - the Climbing Pirate, the Human Elevator, but we mainly call him Gym Dad, for his love of mentoring new climbers.

Terry discovered climbing shortly after Rise Above launched in 2022, and became our resident videographer. He co-hosts 4t Below, a podcast about life with Multiple Sclerosis.

Hela is our newest climber, having originally tried it out for their love of trying new things, but it was the accessibility and supportive community that really got them hooked!

Emily is a seasoned climber and outdoor sports enthusiast. She has been competing for Team Canada for multiple years, and launched Parabloc, the adaptive twin to the Psicobloc deep water soloing competition, in 2022.
